| #we_break_the_silence 4월 27일 12시, 베를린에서 호른바흐 광고(So riecht das Frühjahr)에 항의하는 집회가 열립니다.- 언제 : 2019년 4월 27일(토) 12시 – 어디서 : Oranienplatz 10999 Berlin – 행진코스 : Oranienplatz에서 광고제작사 Heimat 앞까지 – 누가 : 본 광고에 분노하는 누구나호른바흐 당신들이 성차별과 인종차별의 의도가 없었다고 해도 당신들의 광고에 등장하는 우리들은 성차별 당했고 인종차별 당했다고 느끼고 있습니다. 당신들 앞에 이렇게 실존하는 우리들의 목소리를 전혀 존중하지 않는 당신들이, 상상의 도시에 존재하는 여성의 성적취향의 다양성과 자기결정권을 존중한다니 이보다 더 모순적일 수 있겠습니까? 당신들이 해야할 일은 가장 먼저 우리들의 목소리에 귀 기울이는 것입니다. 당신 바로 앞에 있는 우리들 말입니다.당신들은 3월 15일부터 정원에서 땀 흘려 일한 다섯 명의 백인 남성 속옷이 진공 포장돼 도시의 자동판매기에서 판매되는 내용의 광고를 내보냈는데, 자판기에서 속옷을 구매한 아시아 젊은 여성이 속옷의 냄새를 맡으면서 신음을 내고 황홀해하더군요.당신들은 이것이 재미있습니까? 아시아 여성인 우리들은 전혀 재미있지 않습니다. 당신들은 우리들을 당신들의 더러운 속옷에 황홀해하는 열등한 위치에 가져다 놓고, 이 광고를 비판하는 우리들을 당신들의 위트를 이해하지 못하는 과민한 사람들로 조롱하였습니다.수만 수천의 비판과 사과를 요구하는 아시아 커뮤니티의 목소리를 무시하고 언론 플레이와 노이즈 마케팅에 혈안이 된 당신들은, 독일 광고위원회로부터 해당 광고가 인종차별적이라는 평가와 광고 변경 또는 중단을 하지 않으면 징계를 하겠다는 통보를 받고, 4월 15일 아무런 사과 없이 슬그머니 새 광고로 대체하였습니다. 그러나 독일이 아닌 유럽 다른 국가(네덜란드, 오스트리아, 체코 등)에서 여전히 이 광고가 게재되고 있고, 당신들의 소셜미디어에는 다수인종 중심의 자기합리화로 일관된 설명과 함께 이 광고가 남아있습니다. 이쯤 되면 소수인종에 대한 무지로 인해 인종차별적 광고를 만드는 실수를 저지른 기업이 아니라 인종차별주의 기업이 아닌지 의심을 살 정도에 이르렀습니다.이에 우리는 더 이상 참지 않고 거리로 나서 당신들의 인종차별적 광고와 행동에 대해서 우리가 살고 있는 독일 사회에 알릴 것 입니다. 우리는 침묵을 깨고 시끄럽게 함께 외칠 것입니다!호른바흐는 즉각 모든 채널에서의 본 광고를 삭제하라. 호른바흐와 하이마트는 광고 제작과 이후 부적절한 대응 모두를 포함해서 사과하라. 하이마트는 다시는 이런 광고를 만들지 않겠다고 약속하라.- 아시아 여성 연대 (Asian Women’s Solidarity_We Break The Silence)* 본 집회는 개인들이 자발적인 참여 속에 자율적으로 만들어 가는 집회입니다 * 주요집회 내용 : 항의서 낭독, 개인 자유발언, 행진(광고제작사 앞까지), 퍼포먼스(댄스, 노래 등) * 항의서 낭독, 자유 발언, 퍼포먼스를 하고 싶은 개인이나 소모임, 커뮤니티는 페이스북 그룹으로 오셔서 신청하시기 바랍니다. 그리고 진행 프로그램에 대한 아이디어가 있는 분도 이 페이스북 그룹에서 다양한 의견 나눠주시면 감사하겠습니다. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2047536262206003/ * 집회 준비 및 참여를 원하시는 개인들은 위 페이스북 그룹 뿐만 아니라 카카오톡 오픈채팅방에도 참여하실 수 있습니다. 번역/통역, 디자인, 미디어, 진행요원 등 함께하실 수 있는 부분을 이야기 해주시면 감사하겠습니다. https://open.kakao.com/o/g47Zl3lb우리 베를린 오라니엔플라츠에서 만나서 한마음으로 크게 외쳐봅시다! #we_break_the_silence On April 27th, 12:00 PM there will be a demonstration in Berlin protesting against the Hornbach advertisement (So riecht das Frühjahr). – When: 2019 April 27th (Saturday) 12:00 PM – Where : Oranienplatz 10999 Berlin – Demonstration Route : From Oranienplatz to the front of advertising agency Heimat’s Berlin office. – Who : Anyone who was enraged by the aforementioned advertisement. Although you representatives from Hornbach announced that there was no “intention” of sexual or racial discrimination, we, who appeared in your advertisement, did suffer from sexual discrimination and feel that we have been subjected to the racist discrimination. You have no respect for our protests/expressions of discomfort, but claim you respect the sexual “diversity” and “right of self-determination” of a woman who exists in an imaginary city. What can be more contradictory than this? The first and foremost thing you must do is listen to OUR VOICES, who are standing right in front of you. In your advertisement released on March 15th, five white men’s under shirts, dirty and soiled with sweat from working in the garden, are vacuum-sealed and sold in a vending machine in a city. A young Asian woman buys and smells it, and ends up moaning in ecstasy. Do you find this funny? Amusing? We are Asian women who do NOT at all find this humorous. You put Asian women on a subordinate position, violently thrown them into ecstasy with your dirty underwear, and mocked/ridiculed those who criticized this advertisement as overreacting people who just cannot understand the “witty joke.” You have ignored thousands of protests and the demand of the Asian community for a sincere apology. Instead you have been dead-set on the noise-marketing and playing off the media attention. Even when the German Advertising Board evaluated your advertisement as indeed racist and warned that you would face disciplinary measures if you do not immediately change or stop the advertisement, you furtively moved to a new advertisement on April 15th, with no apology. However, in many European countries other than Germany (the Netherlands, Austria, Czech Republic, etc.) the exactly same advertisement is still being shown, and on your social media the offensive advertisement remains with persistently racially prejudiced, self-rationalizing “explanations.” At this point, it is doubtful whether it is a mere “mistake” based on ignorance of racial minorities that the company made the racist advertisement, or whether the company itself has a policy of racial discrimination. We will no longer hold back. We will come out on the street and accuse you of the racist advertisement and behavior in public with other citizens in German society where we live in. We will break the silence and speak up together! Hornbach must delete at once the offensive advertisement on all channels. Hornbach and Heimat must apologize to all the people who have been offended by the advertisement and the inadequate response. Heimat must promise to never produce again such an offensive and racist advertisement.
